Rosebud Restaurant & Bar – Rozelle

image

When there are some many cafes in a single area, and when you gave such a massive space to fill like the Rosebud has, getting people in the door is essential to the cafe not looking excessively empty. Having free WiFi is one option, but I think this cafes trump card is the school across the road and the pram welding mothers.

While I believe this venue would be better described as a restaurant rather than a cafe, they have done the smart thing and not relied on the cheaper coffee options of Vittoria or Lavazza.

Their coffee, sourced from Single Origin Roasters, was decent, but after already having had an extraordinary coffee earlier in the morning, it was going to be tough to do too well. There certainly was a sourness with a slight aftertaste of acrid burnt coffee which was not particularly pleasant. Still much better than the average cafe, I would not say their coffee was bad, but I did enjoy the coffee at Piccolo’s more.

So if you have need of a lot of room, free WiFi, and restaurant quality food, this cafe is still a good option. I did have a little trouble conveying my order with the waitress, but the service was very friendly.
