Oliver Brown - Rouse Hill
It has been so long since I have been out this way the cafe that used to be here has changed into another Oliver Brown. While at first I was hesitant, the location right next to the kids play area mean that these guys have prime real estate. So I decided to bite the bullet and try an espresso… and it was pretty good.

Sure the smell of melted chocolate wafting through the air doesn’t hurt, and getting a few choc bits with each coffee isn’t bad either, but that aside, the coffee was actually drinkable.

Here was me expecting a burnt industrialised flavour and, while it was not in the same quality as a single origin from somewhere like Salvage, I was very pleased. It turns out that these guys use Campos Superior blend, which in general I do not seek out, but in this instance I am glad to have. It is not overly roasted, not overly bitter, not overly exciting, but still… it is a decent cup of coffee.

The barista even managed to make latte art on my mac without adding too much milk (though I would have preferred the coffee delivered straight away…. bah humbug..).

So if you happen to be in the area (and you have kids in tow…) this is a great option. Great coffee, friendly service, and that oh so delicious smell of melted chocolate.
