Coffee: Edition Coffee Roasters
Cafe Review
What can I tell you about the coffee at Edition? It is different. And yes, just in case you were wondering, different is good. Very good. These guys have unique flavour that will assault your palate whether you choose a black or white coffee. Where as most cafes have a blend for white coffees and a lighter single origin for blacks, Edition just uses singles.
In general this is avoided as the delicate florals or sweetness from coffee can easily be suppressed by milk, and thus you’ll normally find more robust flavours mixed into a blend to overpower, or cut through the milk. Edition instead uses the suppressive power of milk to highlight some of the lighter notes. God knows what kind of a magic wand they wave over the coffee while it is getting roasted, but it is something worth trying out.
In store you can also try out the next mystery coffee that is popping up here and there. Elixir is some sort of cold brew coffee that apparently tastes different depending on how long it has been brewed. Think light whisky, mugicha (barley tea) and coffee had a love child. It is very delicate, but worth trying out.
